Purpose and Scope

Uplift Adult and Youth CIC is committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion across all of its activities. This policy sets out how the organisation will work to ensure that every individual has an equal opportunity to participate in, and benefit from, the services, support, and opportunities we provide. We aim to create an inclusive environment that values and respects individuals' differences, recognising the diversity of our community.

This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, service users, and any other individuals involved with Uplift Adult and Youth CIC.

Our Commitment

Uplift Adult and Youth CIC is dedicated to:

Our Principles

Uplift Adult and Youth CIC believes in:

Our Responsibilities

  • Staff: All colleagues (staff, volunteers, directors, and associates) must comply with this policy, actively promoting equality and diversity in their roles.
  • Service Users: We will support service users in understanding their rights to be treated with respect and fairness, and encourage them to challenge any behaviour or attitudes that contradict these values.
  • Management: The leadership team at Uplift Adult and Youth CIC is responsible for ensuring the policy is implemented effectively and for monitoring progress. The team will regularly review the policy and take action when necessary to ensure compliance.

Equality of Opportunity

Uplift Adult and Youth CIC is committed to providing equal access to all services, regardless of an individual's background. This includes:

  • Recruitment and Training: Ensuring that recruitment, training, and development opportunities are accessible to all, without discrimination.

Uplift Adult and Youth CIC is committed to continually monitoring and improving its equality and diversity practices. This includes:

  • Regularly reviewing the policy and our activities to ensure they align with the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Gathering feedback from staff, volunteers, and service users to assess the effectiveness of our approach.
