Policy Statement

We are committed to creating a safe and secure environment where children can participate in our activities without fear of harm or exploitation. We recognize that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and we pledge to uphold the highest standards of child protection in our organization.

Legal Framework

Our child protection policy is based on relevant national and local laws and regulations concerning child protection. We adhere to the Children Act 1989 and Children Act 2004: These Acts form the basis of child protection and welfare legislation in the UK. They outline the responsibilities of local authorities in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Scope

This child protection policy applies to all staff, volunteers, trustees, contractors, and any other individuals associated with Uplift. It covers all activities, events, programs, and services involving children and young people.

Roles and Responsibilities

Code of Conduct

All staff, volunteers, and trustees are expected to adhere to a code of conduct that sets appropriate boundaries and behaviour when working with children. This code of conduct will be provided separately and should be read and understood by all individuals involved.
